With hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever — a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. MOVIESinMO REVIEW

They finally did it. They finally made a 3D-ish computer-generated Scooby-Doo movie, and it looks great. Unfortunately, that’s all it does is look great. For what I thought would be the most excellent Scooby movie of all time was sorely missing the stuff that makes Scooby-Doo. . .Scooby-Doo. This movie is an origin story, and most films that tackle the beginning tales of a character are usually slow-moving, dull, or simply not worth the time. That sums up the first ten minutes of Scoob!. At the end of that early origin montage, there’s an impressive looking, nearly scene for scene of the original “Scooby-Doo Where Are You” intro.
Since the cartoon started in 1969, I’m sure that the intro scene was for the grandparents and historians only. So what happens after that? They’re the Mystery Inc. teens doing what you expect them to do – go into creepy places and debunk ghost myths as a team. That’s the Scooby-Doo way. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It has been working for over fifty years, so why did Warner Brothers think it was a good idea to mess with a winning formula. Apparently, you need to make a certain amount of money to make decisions this stupid. I guess everything you wanted to know about this movie was in the title – Scoob!. Meaning, the majority of this film focuses on Scooby-Doo. The others, Fred, Velma, and Daphne, are treated like low-class second-hand characters. Scooby’s best friend, Shaggy, seems to only be in this film out of pity. So who does Scooby interact with you might wonder? With a few unrelated, unimportant, and unmemorable (unless you’re over fifty) characters from Hanna-Barbera’s library. Everything about this movie is stupid, and not in a good way or funny way. The writers attempt to mix the 1960’s nostalgia with 2020’s catch-phrases, fads, and music failed horribly. It plays out like an idea someone had for a seven-minute short and didn’t take the time to finish it. On the plus side, you don’t need to spend $10 per each kid that might have wanted to see Scoob in the theaters. At this point, if your little ones need to see it, get them all together and fork out the $19.99 it cost to rent Premium-On-Demand titles. In the end, Warner Brothers practically guarantee blu-ray sales of the classic series to remove the visual stain caused by this big-budget disaster. This horrible justification of a movie trashes the whole dynamic of the Scooby-Doo franchise.
