What’s It About
A newspaper and television station funded by a pharmaceutical company want a sensation, which happens to be the discovery of King Kong on an island. He is captured and brought to Japan. King Kong and Godzilla go head-to-head in an epic battle of the beast when the giant gorilla escapes from captivity in Japan and squares up to the recently thawed lizard.
Why It’s Gone
This is a no-brainer – it’s horrible. There are those that say it’s so bad it’s good but that’s a phrase, not too many people, especially Millennials, would ever say. For fans of the 50’s bad special effects or for the fans that feel they need EVERY movie starring Kong or Godzilla, you can easily find this title on Amazon, eBay, etc. for an extremely pricey amount. The Japanese film and distribution company doesn’t see the need to reproduce copies of this train-wreck. The same goes for Universal-International. They have no interest in a film produced in such a low-quality format especially when a new version of this epic monster battle is on the horizon. The production of 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong has created new interest in this film and studios have found some copies of it to sell but once the gimmick has died down, this crap will be shelved (again) and never be seen or heard from again.
