MOVIESinMO REVIEW

A jumbled mess of whatever they could think of. If your question starts off with “Does this movie have. . “ then the answer would be YES. There are monsters, there are giants, there’s magic, there’s a list too long to mention. So what happened? Too many monsters, too many giants, too much magic, same long unapologetic list. Seems like this Hellboy reboot was made by a freshman high school class and then given to the adult versions of the South Park cast to complete. As hard as they try, nothing makes sense in this film. It literally feels like the director and producers pieced together every scene they filmed, in no particular order, until they reached 2 hours. The CG was horrible, and the makeup was even worse. David Harbour’s Hellboy was not funny as he has no real personality when compared to Ron Perlman’s Hellboy. As for the story, it’s was like reading a book with most of the pages missing. The violence was over the top and unnecessary and used mainly for shock value. By the end of the film, the only thing left to say was why. The last Hellboy movie was Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008). They had plenty of time to write the perfect script, so why does this one feel like they wrote it in one night. Why make a reboot instead of Hellboy 3? Why get a new actor to play Hellboy? Why disappoint millions of fans with this piece of crap? Final opinion – this movie is not even worth buying as a bootleg copy.
