WHAT’S IT ABOUT

Sarah and John Blume are thrilled when their young son Miles starts to show signs of rapid development and extreme intelligence. Their family bliss soon turns into a living nightmare when Miles’ behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent by his eighth birthday. After seeking help from two experts, Sarah is horrified to learn that her beloved prodigy may be under the grip of a dark and supernatural force.

MOVIESinMO Review

What a waste. A waste of time, a waste of money, and a waste of some very talented actors. From beginning to end, The Prodigy is boring and predictable. Within the first ten minutes, anyone with a pulse has figured out the entire plot. And YES, it’s just that transparent. No suspense and no reason to watch more than twenty minutes of a movie that’s just an embarrassment to your intelligence. The actor that plays the “bad” kid, Jackson Robert Scott, is so talented if the movie would have been half as good as his acting this would have been a different review. Needless to say, I spent 90 minutes fighting sleep because of this snore-fest. If they had not have given away the main plot in the first ten minutes, I would have had more reason to stay awake. Sadly, there’s nothing to say without spoiling the film for those that want to waste their money. My advice, wait for Jordan Peele’s movie “US”. Besides, as bad as The Prodigy is, it will probably be out of the theatres and on video in two months or less.
