MOVIESinMO REVIEW
Other than having a stereotypical wordy opening scene, The Misfits is a sub-par thief film. Ringo (Nick Cannon) does his best to introduce the team and their roles within it, but his voice is neither sexy, reassuring, nor “fun” to listen to unless you’re a high school girl. Regardless, it seems the director decided to use him as the narrator instead of anyone else. The movie is slow in a lot of spots and goofy in others. The dialog is cringeworthy, and the chemistry between the actors is obviously, not there. The Misfits is missing so much detail. Every scene makes you feel like you just missed a part. Ringo opens the film by being the most stereotypical Black character in movie history. The next character is an Asian man that loves to blow things up. After that, we meet Violet, another Asian woman with extraordinary fighting skills. The last member of the team is a con artist and pickpocket, Richard Pace, played by Pierce Brosnan. I can only guess he needed to pay a hefty bill and had to do this film. The Misfits try to entertain, and in some spots, it was a bit funny. But ultimately frustrate with bad, uneven acting, a pointless plot, and action scenes that go nowhere. Having watched this ninety-minute movie in its entirety, I am left with no form of satisfaction other than saying I saw it.
