MoviesInMo Review

This one was definitely made for a younger audience. My biggest gripe regarding this series is Dracula. They have dumbed him down in every movie. The first one was great, mainly because we didn’t know what to expect and it was a great film overall. Next, the focus was on Drac’s grandson, and he acted like an overprotective “human” granddad. By the time the third film came out, Dracula was a complete idiot. He was nowhere near the fearsome leader he was supposed to be. Now we have Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, and although the story isn’t that bad, the fact that Adam Sandler was not the voice of Dracula raised a few questions. They say it’s because he signed with Netflix and Hotel Transylvania 4 is on Amazon Prime. That’s a weak excuse considering that wasn’t the case when this film was being created. Everyone knows the voices are recorded before they start drawing the film. In my opinion, it’s because he read the script and said HELL NO. That’s gotta mean something coming from an actor with his resume of WTF movies. Like I stated earlier, it’s not a bad story, but the execution is horribly childish and overly immature. Johnny wanted to be a monster to appease Dracula, so he got help from Van Helsing. Dracula finds out what he did and tries to change Johnny back to a human, but he misses, and the main crew of monsters is turned into humans. That was the first thirty minutes of this ninety-minute movie. The rest was Childish garbage, as Drac, wolfman, the Invisible Man, Hank-n-stein, and the rest of the usual crew, go on a quest to turn everything back to the way it was. In short, the film franchise has become as immature as the TV series.

OUR RATING – DRAC’S NOT BACK 5
