WHAT’S IT ABOUT
The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.
MOVIESinMO REVIEW
Another Mission Impossible and they just keep getting better. There has been this joke about Tom Cruise running in all of his movies, and the joke continues with Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Yes, he runs. .a lot, and believe it or not, it makes sense. The mission this time is correcting the mistake made by the team or more precisely, Ethan. Plutonium has been taken and now the CIA is threatening to shut down the IMF (Ethan’s team). The way information is gained by the IMF team is classic Mission Impossible. This is the first M.I. movie that has been able to capture the essence of the original show while bringing it into the new century successfully. Just like the others films in the series, the action is practically nonstop, and the stunts are, as usual, incredible. After months of watching and hearing about how Tom Cruise broke his ankle, we finally get to see the stunt and many, many, more in the movie. That stunt is laughable considering it was one of the movie’s tamest stunts by comparison. Another aspect that makes this installment better than the rest is the unpredictability of the story. I know there are those people that like to predict what will happen next or try to figure out who the bad guy is before it’s revealed just so they can say how predictable the movie was. Well, those people would be wasting their time on this one. There are so many twists even when you think you’re in on the plot, they fool you. E everything about this film is interestingly exciting, and although this movie can and does stand on its own, it is worth noting that this film is a continuation of the Mission: Impossible series storyline.
