What’s It About

The story of the Injustice animated movie is set on an alternate Earth. On this earth, Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane and transformed him into a Superman who chooses the dark path of destruction and becomes more of a devil. This Superman’s power only grows from there and becomes much more evil and darker. And it’s all up to Batman and the rest of the Justice League to take Superman down. Will they be able to take the krypton down? We need to wait and see what will happen.

MOVIESinMO REVIEW

We have mentioned this before, but your opinion will differ from this review if you’ve played the game or read the comics. We review films on their merit. We do not review books, games, or comic books, although we have and will continue to mention them if it’s relevant. In the case of Injustice, it is not as good as the comic or the game. Most movies are worse than the books they are adapted from, and when was the last time a movie was better than the game? But that’s all in the past. As a stand-alone film, Injustice is excellent. Its main fault is being too short. There is so much to digest in eighty minutes. This should have been two films. As most people know, Injustice is DCs version of Marvels What If.. (yes, I know DC was first). The big difference is DC has always been darker than Marvel, and Injustice is the darkest film from DC to date. We’ve seen what happens when The Flash “runs” into another time or alternate Earth. We’ve seen what happens when the Justice League becomes power-hungry. So many others that give us a taste of alternate visions of our favorite heroes. This time it’s Superman – again (Red Son, Death of, etc.), and The Joker, along with Harley, tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane. From there, it’s a matter of choosing a side. Superman decides to eliminate weapons, along with any type of violence, by any means necessary. Batman still believes in the system. Who’s side will you agree with? Most people would be on Superman’s side until they realize just how far the man of steel will go to achieve his goal. Much like Marvel’s Civil War, each hero took a side. Superman had Wonder Woman and Cyborg as his main allies, while Batman had the trust of Green Arrow, Nightwing, and a few others. Most heroes stayed out of it entirely from what was shown, but because this movie is only 80-minutes long, it feels rushed in some places and confusing in others. Overall, it’s a gruesomely interesting film that makes you think.
