WHAT’S IT ABOUT
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
MOVIESinMO REVIEW
It only took 14 years for a sequel and if that’s what Pixar needs to do to produce a quality family film, so be it. Incredibles 2 was well worth the wait and doesn’t miss a beat. As we know from the first film, “supers” are banned, and no one with powers is allowed to use them according to the newly written law. In the sequel, ElastiGirl is chosen by a man named Deavor that wants to change the public perception of superheroes. So, while ElatiGirl is out doing superhero stuff, Mr. Incredible is at home taking care of the kids. Having the mom work and dad stay at home was priceless to watch and more relatable now than ever. There’s a reason moms get the best presents on Mother’s day while fathers get a tie. Parenting is hard work for a couple, and I applaud the single-parent homes for all they do. Mr. Incredible found out the hard way how much work goes into parenting on a daily basis and then it happened. The baby Jak-Jak’s powers. Usually, I would say the baby stole the show but the whole family, including their friend, Frozone, played an intricate role in saving the day. From the time the movie starts until it ended, there was never a dull moment. I saw this movie in 3D, and the theater was 70% kids, and I didn’t think I would be able to hear over the children running around, talking loud and crying. But as soon as the movie started, the only kid noises was the appropriate laughter along with the rest of us watching the movie. The Incredibles 2 is the must-see animated movie with family in mind.
