MOVIESinMO REVIEW
The last in the trilogy and the best mix of horror, drama, comedy, and action in a Marvel movie to date. No need to see the other two films, but if you have seen them, including the Christmas special, the payoff is enormous. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, every character has an important role to play. Even the addition of Cosmo, Kraglin, and several other side characters is more important than previously thought. The movie opens with the Guardians, headquartered on Nowhere, and the team appears to be doing well for themselves. Drax and Mantis are pranking each other. Nebula was being bossy. Rocket is building something, as usual, and Quill is feeling about as down as humanly possible missing Gamora. And just like that, this movie takes off with some of the best action Marvel has produced. The story is solid as it takes you on a profound emotional rollercoaster. From the hopeful mind of Peter, the comedic antics of Drax, or the fatal blows to the Guardians as a team, you will tear up from laughing too hard or crying like a baby. The banter between the team is priceless. As I stated earlier, this volume will also shock you with a few scenes that may horrify some moviegoers but are needed to understand the gravity of certain situations and the overall theme. By comparison, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is not as funny as its predecessors, but the deep emotions expressed by the team far exceed any expectations you may have.
