MOVIESinMO REVIEW
Sisu has to be one of the wildest revenge action films I’ve ever seen. With a simple plot and light dialog, this movie will make you squirm, shock, and laugh. The main character, Aatami Korpi, has lost everything, his wife, kids, and faith in the war efforts of his homeland. Because of this, he decided to prospect for gold in hopes of leaving everything behind. On his way to exchange his gold, the Nazis ordered to take over this particular section of Finland decided to take it. This is when Aatami turns into an intelligent barbarian version of John Wick. The Nazis threatened him but made the mistake of trying to take the only things he had left, his animals, a dog and a horse, and his gold. When the vengeance starts, Sisu becomes so satisfying to watch. Do things happen that push reality too far? Of course they do. But so does Rambo, Nobody, The Terminator, and John Wick. In Sisu, Aatami fights through the pain and impossible odds because he has nothing left. The Nazis are following orders, both official and personal. Aatami falls under both. So watching him kill tons of historically known bad guys is satisfying regardless of the realism factor.
