MOVIESinMO REVIEW
Have you ever wondered what would happen if a police officer and a dog became one super-awesome hero? Well, that’s exactly what happens in this totally cool animated adventure! It all starts when brave Officer Knight and his super-smart police dog Greg are trying to stop a big KABOOM set up by a sneaky cat named Petey. Something unexpected happens, and the doctors have to do some really creative surgery – they end up putting Greg’s dog head onto Officer Knight’s body! Instead of being scary, it turns out to be amazing because now we have the world’s first ever dog-human police officer! Our new hero is super special because even though he can’t talk (except for some funny woofs and playful barks), he’s incredible at catching bad guys. He makes police work super fun, especially when he gets super excited about chasing squirrels or giving big slobbery kisses to everyone at the police station – especially his boss, the Chief! The Chief tries really hard to keep our furry friend focused on catching criminals, but sometimes it’s hard when there are so many interesting things to sniff! There’s also this really cool news reporter named Sarah who follows all of our hero’s amazing adventures and tells everyone about his awesome crime-fighting skills. So there goes the main troublemaker for this story-an always grumpy cat, Petey. Petey is always devising silly plans to make things chaotic. One day, Petey became so annoyed that he was not able to outsmart our hero that he decides to build a copy of him using a special cloning machine. But uh-oh! Petey doesn’t read the instruction manual (always read the instructions, kids!), and instead of getting a grown-up clone, he ends up with an adorable little kitten version of himself called Li’l Petey. The funny thing is, Li’l Petey isn’t mean like his dad at all! He’s super curious and keeps asking, “But why?” about everything, just like many kids do. Even funnier, Li’l Petey becomes best friends with our hero, which makes big Petey’s whiskers twitch with frustration! Just when you think things couldn’t get more exciting, whoosh! In comes Flippy, a fish who got zapped by some weird science stuff and now has super-duper mind powers! Flippy can make things float and move just by thinking about them – how crazy is that? This fish is so powerful that our hero and Petey have to stop fighting each other and work together to save the city. It’s like when you have to team up with your sibling to clean your room, even if you were arguing five minutes ago! The action gets HUGE – like, literally huge! There are buildings that come alive and start walking around the city like giant robots. It’s like a monster movie but with skyscrapers doing kung-fu! Our hero has to use all his crime-fighting skills, plus his love of fetch and belly rubs, to help save everyone. The whole story is full of important lessons about looking at life in different ways. Petey always thinks everything is going to go wrong (kind of like when you think there’s a monster under your bed), but Li’l Petey sees the good in everything (like finding shapes in clouds). It shows how sometimes kids can teach grown-ups important stuff, too! The movie looks super cool with bouncy animation that makes it feel like everything is made of toys coming to life. Even though our hero doesn’t talk much, all his friends make the story exciting. The Chief is like a helpful teacher, Sarah is always ready with her microphone to report the latest news, and Petey makes everyone laugh with his dramatic “evil” plans that keep going wrong. For 89 wonderful minutes (that’s about the same time as a really long recess), we get to watch amazing chase scenes, silly kung-fu fights, and unexpected friendships form. It’s especially sweet to see how Petey learns to be a better dad to Li’l Petey, even though he didn’t expect to become a parent through his evil cloning scheme! The ending is so exciting with ginormous battles between buildings (imagine if your school could get up and start dancing!), and everyone has to work together even if they don’t usually get along. It’s like when the whole class has to cooperate to put on a school play – sometimes the most unexpected teams make the best results! Even though some parts might sound a bit scary (like the surgery that creates our hero), everything is shown in such a fun way that it just feels like playing pretend. The whole movie is packed with jokes, heart-warming moments, and proves that friendship can happen between anyone – even a dog-human police officer and a tiny clone of his arch-nemesis! It’s kind of like how you might become best friends with someone you didn’t expect to like at first. The story leaves us thinking there might be more amazing adventures coming up, and honestly, we can’t wait to see what kind of silly situations our hero and his weird but wonderful family of friends get into next! Remember kids: sometimes the best families are the ones we make ourselves, even if they include cats, dogs, and mind-reading fish!
