“Ape vs. Monster” is a 2021 science fiction film produced by The Asylum, a studio famous for creating mockbusters. This film is clearly designed to capitalize on Warner Bros’ “Godzilla vs. Kong” which was released the same year. The plot of “Ape vs. Monster” follows a storyline where a spaceship crashes on Earth carrying alien DNA that causes a gorilla and a lizard to grow to enormous sizes. The gorilla, named Abraham, was once an ordinary ape used in space program experiments. After the crash, both creatures begin wreaking havoc across the United States as they battle each other. Military personnel and scientists work together to stop the destruction while also dealing with the creatures that mutated from the alien DNA.
