What’s It About

Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

MOVIESinMO REVIEW

Before I start, I want everyone to know just how damn happy I am with Comcast. Their bid to buy Fox upped the ante and made Disney back off. . . Temporarily. I, along with other fans, was seriously upset by the news of Disney buying Fox. Disney does not do “rated R.” They are THE family-friendly company, and the buyout would have ruined Deadpool 2 along with any other rated R titles in the future. Here’s hoping Comcast, or any company, can keep Disney from buying Fox. Now on to the review. He’s back, and he brought some friends. The latest Deadpool movie isn’t necessarily better than the first one it’s just better on a different level. No need to see the origin, we know who his girlfriend is, and we know who the two X-Men are – Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. This time around we add multiple characters, give Deadpool feelings, and a more in-depth story. The plot is long-winded with plenty of surprises, twists and fourth-wall breaks. At some points in the movie, things got a bit too serious by Deadpool standards. It sets a different tone and takes the film in a much needed altered direction. Cable, the killer from the future, is all business and Deadpool can slow down his eventual manhunt and capture of Russell Collins, the child mutant also known as FireFist. Deadpool, in need of an advantage, forms the X-Force. For those of you that read the comic books, you’ll know their names but don’t try to predict what will happen in a Deadpool movie – you will be wrong. Domino becomes the most important member of the team by comparison and I wouldn’t be surprised if she stars in a solo film or a full X-Force movie. Meanwhile, Deadpool, still in denial of Dominos “luck” powers, has several battles to fight. First, be a team player (not a normal Deadpool quality), next, stop Cable (apparently not as easy as our hero thought), and (sorta) last, save FireFist, the mutant kid that has no visible problems taking care of himself.  Our main character develops an epiphany which changes him into the man his girlfriend Vanessa, always knew he could be and his actions after that are unlike the Deadpool we all saw in the first film. This Deadpool is on a mission to save everyone, including himself. So by Hollywood standards, more money means more chances for a sequel. . . and maybe something animated on Adult Swim.
