MOVIESinMO REVIEW
WOW!! The action in this movie is so over the top. There’s no description I or anyone else could give that could fully paint the visual craziness you will see in John Wick 3. This is the third installment of the series, and it does not hold back. If you’ve seen John Wick and John Wick 2, then you already have an idea of how skilled John is. The first two films established the fact that John plays a very small part of a very large network of professionals. JW3 takes that idea a bit further as we are introduced to an entire system of organized law. The people he works or worked for are global with rules for any and every situation. Compliance is a must and following the rules is the number one priority.
John Wick is the best hitman alive, but because of an emotional retaliation, A $14 million bounty was placed on his head. That’s all the story needed to make this movie unbelievably action-packed. So for the next 2 hours and 10 minutes, you get to see some of the best hand to hand, gun, knife, and sword fights ever assembled in one film. Once it gets started, it’s in full insane mode until the end. Along the way, you learn more about John’s past and the people that helped him along the way. That’s right, there’s somewhat of a story blended within all that justified violence. The fight scenes are so expertly done, you can’t help but wish you knew half the moves John Wick did. This can only be compared to expertly done battle scenes in the more epic Asian martial arts films. Unfortunately, America has never been known for having the most realistic fights in movies. John Wick: Chapter 3 puts an end to that horrible Hollywood stereotype. The attention to detail during every shootout is fantastic. Sadly, I remember watching movies with gunfights, and it never dawned on me that they rarely reloaded. Once that fact was clear, it becomes one of those things you can’t forgive Hollywood for doing. So I am thankful they got that right in JW3. Final note – if done right, this series could last a long time and the name John Wick could become a code name like James Bond, a name that described the best of the best, as long as they keep it real, and keep it relevant.
