WHAT’S IT ABOUT

Accompanied by her husband, son, and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, the family is horrified to learn that each attacker takes the appearance of one of them.

MOVIESinMO Review

For all the people that wished they had a twin or could hang with someone that looked like them – stop it. After seeing this movie, I don’t even want to hang around people that kind of look like me. “Us” will make you question how well you know your friends, your family, and your associates. This movie is a special kind of creepy because unlike most horror films, everything did not happen at night. This made the movie more horrifying since we naturally think things will be OK if they can last until the sun comes up. That did not happen and things got progressively worse. The more we find out, the scarier it gets. The Wilsons, the family being tormented, displays the same horrifying looks anyone would have if confronted by doppelgangers of their entire family. To make matters worse, the “copies” seem to have above-average strength and power. Although it might be because the Wilson’s are in a very understandable state of shock. This is why “Us” is a great horror film. It doesn’t have all those stupid horror movie clichés with all those stupid characters you wish would die.
