WHAT’S IT ABOUT
From DreamWorks Animation comes a surprising tale about growing up, finding the courage to face the unknown…and how nothing can ever train you to let go. What began as an unlikely friendship between an adolescent Viking and a fearsome Night Fury dragon has become an epic adventure spanning their lives. Welcome to the most astonishing chapter of one of the most beloved animated franchises in film history: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Now chief and ruler of Berk alongside Astrid, Hiccup has created a gloriously chaotic dragon utopia. When the sudden appearance of female Light Fury coincides with the darkest threat their village has ever faced, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the only home they’ve known and journey to a hidden world thought only to exist in myth. As their true destinies are revealed, dragon and rider will fight together—to the very ends of the Earth—to protect everything they’ve grown to treasure. For “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’, series director Dean DeBlois returns alongside the all-star cast. The film is produced by Brad Lewis (Ratatouille, ANTZ) and Bonnie Arnold (Toy Story, How to Train Your Dragon, How to Train Your Dragon 2).
MOVIESinMO Review
If you have been following this series then you know how connected each villager is to their respected dragon. In How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, that connection is heavily tested. Right at the start, you witness a dragonrider rescuing caged dragons on a ship. This person is soon accompanied by several other riders. This is when we find out who the riders are. Hiccup, Toothless, and the other main riders are on a mission to save all captured dragons. This is the main theme throughout the film. The bad guy this time is a dragon hunter named Grimmel. He’s on a personal mission to kill every Night Fury dragon. This leads us to the other side story, the Light Fury. The only one left and the eventual love interest of Toothless. As each story plays out, you see a considerable amount of growth within Hiccup, as he is now the leader of his people. His girlfriend Astrid becomes the support he needs when he, as usual, begins to doubt himself. This is understandable since the new enemy is smarter than anyone he has faced before. Now the future of Berk and its people are questionable, all of the dragons are in danger, and Hiccup’s leadership is uncertain. Hidden World is visually stunning but more importantly, it’s a damn good story with a climactic end that, for fans of the series, WILL make you will cry.
