What’s it About
Bitten by a radioactive spider in the subway, Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales suddenly develops mysterious powers that transform him into the one and only Spider-Man. When he meets Peter Parker, he soon realizes that there are many others who share his special, high-flying talents. Miles must now use his newfound skills to battle the evil Kingpin, a hulking madman who can open portals to other universes and pull different versions of Spider-Man into our world.
MoviesInMo Review
The best Spider-man movie EVER!! Entertaining from beginning to end. This movie was filled with surprises and loaded with laughs. Every “Spider” explained their origin and Aunt Mae is a badass. Although the main focus is Miles Morales, he was definitely not the only star of the movie. We do get to see Miles transform from a regular person to a superhero as he clumsily tries to learn about his newfound powers. It’s a process that showcases the heart of the film with over-the-top comic book style graphics. Peter B Parker, the oldest of the group, is seen as a real ass that makes you wonder how and why he’s a Spiderman until we get to know what he’s been through. Afterward, you realize how much he earned the right to be called a hero. Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman), seems to be the only one at peace with being a hero until she tells her story and you find out what her regrets are. Spider-Noir, the black and white hero, is a stereotype of every 1930’s detective comic, complete with the same lingo and German enemies. Peni Parker is the anime style of hero. Her powers are her intellect and electronic skills. Peni’s spider-powers come from her spider-like mech, controlled by her and a radioactive spider she has a psychic link with. Spider-Ham/Peter Porker was a spider that gained his powers after being bitten by an animal scientist named Mary Porker. She “accidentally” exposed herself to radiation, bit Peter, and he transformed into a pig with spider powers (or a spider with pig powers). As silly as all this seems, it works for this movie. The villains are numerous, and just like your favorite comic book, the fight and chase scenes are huge as they show off the best graphics of the film. By the end of the movie, you feel empathy for everyone, even Kingpin (actually, just his wife and kid). If you can afford it, Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse is the perfect film to see in 3D. Don’t forget to stay for the post-credit scene.
