MoviesInMo Review
There have been at least 100 Robin Hood films, TV shows, and plays since 1908 and in those 110 years, most of us know less than 10 of them. So why does Hollywood have a hard-on for Robin Hood? It was supposed to represent true justice for the common man. An idea that anything is possible and eventually, everyone gets what they deserve. That’s the simple story of Robin Hood . . . .if you also take out the love interest part. That’s also the type of story that drives Hollywood and apparently the reason Lionsgate funded this piece of crap. It’s rare to see a film in 2018 with so much action be so horribly boring. This movie was just stupid. Normally, I dog people that call out inaccuracies in fictional films, but DAMN. Nothing made sense in this movie. The clothes, the weapons, even the people appear to be out of place. The people don’t look impoverished, just dirty. The weapons, other than bows and arrows, are unimaginable. They actually had a machine that shot arrows like an automatic fires bullets. Lastly, their clothing. These were some of the best-dressed peasants I’ve ever seen. Hell, I think Robin was wearing a Yeezy coat. That brings me to John, played by Jamie Foxx. He was a warrior from a tribe the Crusader slaughtered. John is taller than most people in town. John is supposed to be from a different area of people that were killed. JOHN IS BLACK. In Robin Hood, that must means your invisible because John is the only prominent black person in the film. He hangs with Robin all the time. When Robin Hood is stealing from the rich, John helps him get away. When Robin is at a fancy affair, John is with him. Why was it so hard for the Sheriff of Nottingham to figure out “the identity of the hood stealing from me.” In the end, Robin Hood could have been a fun movie, but for me, there are too many blaring in your face errors that continually distracted me and keep from fully enjoying the film.
