MOVIESinMO Review

Although this film talks about several issues in America, its main focus is the current president. He literally rips him a new one. Fahrenheit 11/9 is a better assessment of how things are than the other documentaries that have come out this year. It also gives a more honest opinion with the assistance of actual news footage without altering the video or audio. Mr. Moore uses a lot of the exact same news clips that we’ve all seen over the years and goes into depth regarding the file footage. He points out the obvious about the commander in chief with statements like “nothing is hidden as he did all of his misdeeds right in front of the world.” That’s right, he groped his daughter – in front of us. He talked negatively about Blacks, cripples, gays, Muslims, POWs, and women – right in front of us. He said Mexico was going to pay for the wall – and then said WE need to pay for it and it’s the Democrat’s fault if we don’t. He said all these things and a whole lot more, but that’s just the first thirty minutes. Suddenly, Moore switches focus to Flint, Michigan, and its water problem. He goes into detail about how the Governor used his position to create a situation worse than third-world countries. Michael Moore didn’t hold back either. He talked about the Clintons, the Obamas, Bush, and everybody else in power at the time. This, of course, is just a precursor to our president and how the United States is becoming worse than anything Hitler could have ever done.  I’m sure the racists in this country will cry blasphemy because someone is stating the obvious, but for the people that really want the U. S. to be that great place we’ve always been told about, this film is for you. If you need to get fired up, watch this film. If you want this country to be what all those patriotic songs say it is, pay attention to this film. Corruption, bigotry, sexism, racism, political collusion, genocide, you name it, and our country has a problem with it. The worse thing about the United States is our short-term memory. When an incident happens, we grieve, and then we move on. Nothing gets fixed and then it happens again, and we grieve, and then we move on. It’s an endless cycle, and that’s why films like Fahrenheit 11/9 seem so shocking. It’s because we forgot what the last issue was and just moved on to the next thing and when it continues to happen, we have the nerve to look and act shocked. There’s still a drug problem. There’s still a water problem in Flint, Michigan. There are still tons of open lawsuits against the president. There’s still homelessness, shootings, and kids separated from their parents. Luckily for us, there will always be movies like Fahrenheit 11/9 to help keep us aware of the state of our humanity.
