MOVIESinMO REVIEW
I don’t know how or why PAW Patrol got so popular, but as far as kids shows go, it’s very colorful, and the movie has enough action scenes to keep a child’s mind busy. Being an adult with kids, I want to make sure the content my children are watching doesn’t send any unwanted messages because PAW Patrol is somewhat questionable in that area. There are all types of messages that can be taken in some very wrong ways if you read too much into them. Since I don’t watch the series, I’m not sure if it’s a part of the show’s regular dialog to use politically driven double entendres, but the movie is filled with them. As for the kid dialog/lessons, working together, being a team player, and believing in yourself are forced down your throat in every scene. Those would be good things in other children’s shows, and they’re still good in this one, but the way they go about it leaves you with more questions than answers. For instance, how does a Ryder, a ten-year-old boy, have more authority than any city official? Where’s he getting his finances for all that fancy gear the puppies use? Who built their HQ? If you are a parent, the questions are never-ending. The stuff kids ask is more troublesome, like why and when did everyone forget how to do anything for themselves? Why does Ryder boss the pups like a military officer? Where are Ryder’s parents, and does he have human friends? Once again, the questions are non-stop. Overall, PAW Patrol: The Movie is entertaining, but be warned, there are plenty of conspiracy theories, both positive and negative, surrounding this series, and this movie only makes it worse.
