What’s It About

Following the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker’s life and his reputation are turned upside down following his identity being exposed at the hands of Mysterio. Seeking help from Stephen Strange to try and fix everything, things soon become much more dangerous and Parker must find what it really means to be Spider-Man.

MOVIESinMO REVIEW

This is the best thing Marvel studios has done all year, and Tom Holland owns this role. In my opinion, he’s the second-best Spiderman behind Tobey Maguire. But this is the best Spiderman film to date. Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up shortly after the post-credit ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home. That’s when the world (or at least New York) assumed Spiderman killed Mysterio, and when Mysterio told all that was listening, Spiderman is Peter Parker. From there, it was a crazy ride filled with every media outlet spreading the word about Spidey’s true identity and legal forces looking to arrest and detain him. Of course, there was the usual public opinion. On one side, he’s a hero, and whatever happened, he had a good reason. The other side practically said verbatim whatever J. Jonah Jameson said; He’s a menace, a violent vigilante, and should be arrested. Considering he is still in high school, Peter could only take so much. That’s where Doctor Strange comes in. Up to this point, No Way Home was your standard Marvel movie. That changed dramatically once Strange got involved. This film sends you on a serious emotional roller coaster. One second you’re laughing with MJ and Ned. Then, in the same scene, you’re feeling empathy for Norman or cheering for Doc Oc. As for Peter Parker, he covers the entire spectrum of the emotional rainbow. He was content being Spiderman. Then his secret was out, and he became scared, confused, and somewhat relieved. As the film progresses, he mirrors the Peter Parker most comic book readers recognize from early publications. He is that kid with powers far beyond his knowledge or control. He’s a person forced into a world of chaos trying to do what he feels is right. That is the ultimate story of every superhero, and Spider-Man: No Way Home does an excellent job of showing you just how complicated that can be while keeping things fun, entertaining, and not being preachy or boring you with unnecessary dialog.
