What’s It About
This docudrama draws parallels between the dramatic fracturing of the nation over Abraham Lincoln’s presidency and the presidency of Donald Trump.
MOVIESinMO REVIEW
For almost 2 hours I sat and listened to a man justify the actions of the Republican party and more importantly, Donald Trump. According to the writer and director, Dinesh D’Souza, everything bad in this country. . . .no wait. Everything bad in the civilized countries around the globe has been the fault of the Democrats since their existence. Dinesh uses “historical facts” to convince us that every horrible account throughout history has the stench and ideology of the Democratic Party. I hate to make the comparison, but Dinesh’s storytelling delivery is very similar to that of a man of the cloth. They both believe what they are saying and representing to be the truth, but they both tell you ONLY what helps define what they say want you to know. This means a lot of what needed to be said, was never said. I will admit, it takes a lot of journalistic talent to talk about the President for more than 10 minutes without mentioning something he’s doing or has done to divide America further. Mr.D’Souza did mention Trumps womanizing, but it was one sentence and was downplayed to nothing more than “he’s rich, he’s a man, everybody does it.” If you don’t know who Dinesh D’Souza is, he the same writer/director that produced “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party.” There are others that give you the full picture as to what type of person Dinesh is, and although the citizens of this country have freedom of speech, expression, blah, blah, blah, Death Of A Nation might as well be Birth of a Nation (the original 1915 version).
