Out of money, down on their luck and freshly fired from their low-lift jobs as house cleaners, aspiring club promoters/best buds Damon and Kevin decide to host the party of the year at LeBron James’ exclusive mansion, the site of their last cleaning job.

It’s Back! House Party is being introduced to a new generation with slight changes. Many of today’s artists and a few old-school rappers, singers, and athletes make cameo appearances. There are bullies and a dance scene that are obviously influenced by the original film. They even threw in several love interests. But the 1990 House Party film used the chemistry of the rap duo Kid and Play. There were also a couple of comedians and a significantly buffed R&B group to assist in moving the story along comically and entertainingly. Apparently, the House Party film of 2023 thought it would be a good idea to use two regular actors with no real appeal or musical talent to star in a musically driven movie. Additionally, why did it take so long to get to the point? It was bad enough that this movie dragged along, but it was nearly half over by the time it got to the actual party. As for the party, it was the only highlight of the film, filled with some awesome music. But that highlight lasted about ten minutes. The rest of House Party was crap. Horrible stars, unnecessary cameos, over-the-top and extremely brutal bullies, and a plot that was all over the place. House Party was so bad I got an instant attitude around the twenty-minute mark that only got worse by the movie’s end.
